Your Membership CardYour membership card is your key to the YMCA. Present your YMCA membership card every time you visit your YMCA. Memberships and cards are non-transferable. Expected BehaviorThe YMCA is an inclusive, family-friendly organization. We expect all our members and guests to model our four values-caring, honesty, respect, responsibility-in their conduct and language. The YMCA has the right to terminate a membership at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the best interests of the organization. Physical ReadinessBefore starting any exercise program, please check with your doctor. If you are age 14 or older, you may ask our fitness staff for a physical readiness questionnaire to help you determine what level of workout you’re ready for. Using the EquipmentPlease schedule your complimentary fitness orientation as soon as possible by contacting the member service desk. This orientation, which is specific to the equipment in our facilities, will help you get the most out of your time at the Y. Facility RegulationsPlease observe the policies and rules posted in each area of our facility. Our program directors, fitness staff, and lifeguards are on duty to ensure your safety. Please respect them and understand their responsibilities. HolidaysThe YMCA is closed on eight holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. For closing times contact the YMCA. Services for People with DisabilitiesThe YMCA serves people of all abilities. Through our Inclusion Services Department, we provide reasonable accommodations to enable all people to participate in our programs and classes. Workout AttireShorts and a shirt or a leotard are appropriate in most areas of our facility. Street shoes are not allowed on wood floors. Proper swim suits are required. Member InputWe value your suggestions for improving our YMCA. If you have a comment or suggestion, please pass it along to any member of our staff, or fill out a member comment card and drop it in the suggestion box. We will respond to comments/ suggestions that have name, address, and phone number. Emergency ProceduresYour safety and good health are our foremost concerns. Should an accident, injury or unusual incident occur while you are at the YMCA, contact a staff member immediately. Supervision of ChildrenTo ensure safety, children under the age of 14 should be directly supervised by a parent or guardian in all areas of the YMCA unless enrolled in a YMCA program. LockersUse the appropriate locker room for age and gender. Each member or guest should provide his or her own padlock for daily use lockers. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the member service desk unless you rent your locker. Full-size lockers and mini-lockers are available to rent at most facilities. |
